Who We Are
About Alder
Street Productions
Distinctive filmmakers.
Enduring stories.
Alder Street Productions develops and produces independent feature films that pair bold creative voices with thoughtful, collaborative producing.
Founded by Tony Award-winning and Grammy-nominated producer Cody Lassen, the company was created to champion filmmakers with singular perspectives and help ambitious stories reach audiences around the world. We believe the most memorable films begin with a distinctive point of view, and that great producing means protecting that vision while building the creative, financial, and strategic foundation necessary for it to thrive.
Our slate spans comedy, drama, thriller, horror, and everything in between, but the projects we pursue share a common thread: compelling characters, emotionally resonant storytelling, and filmmakers with something meaningful to say. We are drawn to stories that feel deeply personal yet universally relatable — films that entertain, challenge, and remain with audiences long after the credits roll.
The company's name comes from the alder tree, long associated with resilience, regeneration, and the ability to flourish in difficult environments. Those qualities reflect our philosophy as producers. We believe in nurturing artists, embracing creative risk, and helping exceptional stories find their audience, regardless of scale.
From development through production, post-production, financing, distribution, and festival strategy, Alder Street partners closely with writers, directors, and creative teams to build lasting careers and lasting films.
"We aspire to sit in the creative and cultural space occupied by A24, NEON, Focus Features, Annapurna Pictures, and Bleecker Street — companies known for championing singular artists, culturally relevant stories, and films with both artistic ambition and commercial appeal."
